Serum Gelsolin Levels in PCOS-Related Androgenetic Alopecia

Aim: To compare serum gelsolin levels of women with androgenetic alopecia PCOS and patients non-PCOS alopecia. Materials Methods: A total 30 who applied to our dermatology clinic the complaint hair loss were diagnosed (AGA) included in study. Thirty not but AGA considered as control group. Patients group matched terms age. was cases widespread thinning on scalp preservation frontal hairline. All participants underwent a complete clinical examination blood examination. Serum both groups measured by ELISA. Results: The number, age, BMI values recorded similar. testosterone, insulin, HOMA-IR LH significantly higher compared without PCOS. There is no significant difference between FSH levels. lower than (160.1 ± 34.2 ng/mL vs. 188.6 46.7 ng/mL, p < 0.03). We found negative relationship testosterone (r = 0.68, 0.02). Conclusions: be patient groups.
